From greek yogurt, probiotic yogurt, whipped yogurt, and everything in between, navigating through all the selections seems a bit overwhelming.
Here are 3 key things to help you choose a healthy yogurt:
- Look at the ingredients list: the first two ingredients should be: milk, then lactobacillus (example: L. acidophilus, L. casei, B. bifidum and B. Longum).
- When in doubt, go Greek. In comparison to regular yogurt, Greek yogurt are lower in sugar and have less lactose (so good option for our less lactose-tolerant friends).
- Avoid added sugar in your yogurt. Opt to add your own honey/fruits to the yogurt to avoid too much sugar.
